Farewell, Automattic

Earlier this week I made the difficult decision to leave Automattic, where I’ve been working on the VIP team for just shy of two years. It’s been a tremendous ride — I’m truly proud of who I’ve been able to work with, and what we’ve been able to get done.

I’ve felt my personal growth slow in recent months, however. Considering where I’m at in my career, and that Leah is busy with school, I’m looking for a more challenging opportunity — one that pushes me to learn, grow, and lead. If you have or know of such an opportunity, I’d love to hear from you: d@danielbachhuber.com

Here’s my updated resume.

I’ll miss your code reviews, but glad for your change of scenery. 🙂

How fitting…. as we are leaving Port (Angeles) for a new adventure (Victoria) to use some old skills (ha! Soccer)…. have fun, it’s all good 🙂

I need someone for a Plugin Developer Handbook…. I can’t pay you though 😉

Best of luck with whatever you decide to do. I’m sure your coding skills will be much in demand.

As I mentioned privately previously, this is a big loss for Automattic. Sad to see you go — I really enjoyed working with you. Of course I’ll still see you around (game night!) but still sad. 🙁

Best of luck with everything on the horizon, Daniel. It’s been a pleasure working with you over the past couple of years…
