So happy to have found the time to read your story thus far. You made it over and good on you even if not exactly comfortable, but when is stepping out of one's idea of normal exactly comfortable? A little dried pee never really hurt anyone (or not too much) Thanks for caring about the environment and people that you don't know. You will come back an even deeper young man. Cheers! Be safe dude, Brenda

Daniel,

Read your story with great interest. You are doing things which native Indians like myself may not dare to do. So, Kudos to your efforts and accomplishments.

I am sure you will have more fun when you join your Sadhna Village volunteers and got into the convention phase of your trip.

I just can't wait for you come back and share your experiences first hand with all the photos you are taking.

Keepup the spirit high and you will succeed in your venture.

First of all: I admire your courage and the way you follow through with something you set your mind to. Second: Your story has inspired me to take a journey myself...Peru or Argentina maybe? Third: I feel like I'm reading a published book looking at this last entry and i can't wait for the next one. :) Remember... "Not all who wonder are lost"-J.R.R Tolken

Dan, It sounds like you are having quite the learning experience. Traditional ones, such as meeting the dude from the place, as well as meeting the Indian guy who hooked you up. It sounds like those are what you came for and, while they aren't happening as consistently as it seems you'd like, at least they're happening. By the way, did you end up saying anything on camera when they interviewed you as an American?

It also sounds like you're having non-traditional learning experiences. You're seeing the bureaucracy, the filth, the overcrowding and these are probably the most important things to learn about a place. Unfortunately, learning about them sounds like it sucks.

My two cents from back in the UO bubble
